The Salon

An intimate creative salon

Joy’s on the Avenue is an intimate, vintage-inspired creative salon designed for small gatherings, recordings, workshops and artistic development sessions. Set around a rich velvet performance backdrop, a vintage Hammond organ and Leslie, curated mid-century furnishings and warm ambient lighting, the space offers a distinctive atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and welcoming.

Unlike a traditional meeting room or studio, Joy’s on the Avenue has been intentionally styled to encourage meaningful conversations, creative expression and memorable experiences.

Our Story

A salon since the fifties, still styling.

The doors have welcomed locals since the 1950s — first as the neighbourhood hairdresser, the original painted window and teal tilework still proudly in place.

Today the chairs and dryers have made way for art, antiques and atmosphere. Joy's on the Avenue is now an art salon for private hire — a one-of-a-kind backdrop for launches, parties, shoots and celebrations that wears its history beautifully.

Proud official creative salon for Zen Zen Zo Independent Theatre.
